Topic: The breakthroughs of cardiovascular calcification

Abstract

Cardiovascular calcification is an important indicator of increased risk for hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, aging, and chronic kidney disease. It is also a key factor for the high morbidity and mortality of the major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs). Recently, the both calcification mechanisms of intimal and medial layers are the transformation of vascular smooth muscle cells into bone and cartilage-like cells through calcium deposition through TGF-b/RUNX2 pathway.
Our results demonstrate the novel FHL2-, ATTR-, and MFG-8E- knockout mice are possibly related upper and down pathways. We will try to use the platforms of proteinomics and spatial transcriptomics to elucidate the mechanism and effects of therapy, including stain, SGLT2i, GLP1RA and Lp(a).
